Furry Friday: Meila, Cricket and Melinda

The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process.  And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional animals looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

Meet Meila, a sweet and affectionate pup with a passion for human connection and a love for her ancestral melodies. Meila’s soulful serenades will captivate any audience lucky enough to hear her sing the songs of her ancestors.

While she adores people, Meila prefers to be the only furry friend in the household, as she enjoys having all the attention to herself. She’s on the lookout for a loving companion who will take her for leisurely walks and indulge her in games of chase around the backyard. Keep away is one of Meila’s favorite pastimes, and she’ll make sure you never have a dull moment with her playful antics.

Although Meila loves affectionate pets, she’s a bit particular about her appearance and appreciates a gentle touch to avoid messing up her hairdo. If you’re someone who understands the importance of delicate gestures in showing love, Meila could be the perfect match for you.

If you’re ready to open your heart and home to this charming canine companion, come meet Meila and let her enchant you with her loving nature and melodious tunes.

Meet Cricket, an adult miniature pinscher/chihuahua mix (our best guess) weighing 13lbs who is looking for her forever home! She appreciates the finer things in life like sunbathing and finding the coziest spot to take naps. Cricket would love a calmer household that will allow her to settle in and open up as she gets more comfortable, and appreciates her independent nature. She likes to cuddle when wants to, but also is very content chilling in her own space. Cricket seems to enjoy the company of other respectful dogs big and small, and totally ignores cats. She is low/medium energy and likes to play in spurts, especially with stuffies! No young children for Cricket; teenaged kids considerate of her handling preferences are ok. She would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a cat-like dog who is pretty low maintenance and likes to just “be”. Cricket is crate trained, house trained, spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and preventatives, and her adoption fee is $275.

Meet Melinda, the Queen of Serenity! This gorgeous feline is the epitome of sweetness and calmness. This sweet girl adores being petted and is a pro at the art of relaxation. You’ll often find her lounging in her favorite sunspot, soaking up warmth and serenity.

Melinda loves nothing more than being showered with affection, and she’s a purr-fect companion for those cozy nights in. Her fur is as soft as a cloud, and she’ll steal your heart with her gentle demeanor.

Melinda is not a fan of other cats, and needs to be the queen of her castle!

Melinda is FIV+ but can live as long and healthy of a life as a non-FIV+ cat. Cats that are FIV+ can also live with non-FIV+ cats.

Melinda is currently at Chow Hound located at 2490 Burton St., SE.

If you’re looking for a forever friend who enjoys companionship and creating a harmonious home, Melinda is your gal!
