Have you ever wondered why the tradition of smooching under a sprig of mistletoe at Christmas time started? Someone at MAS read a story to me about a god being struck down with an arrow made from a mistletoe plant, so his mother goddess mandated a promise of a kiss to ensure that mistletoe was never used for violence again. So mistletoe became a symbol of love and peace, through the grief of tragedy.
I don’t know if there is truth in the story, but I can promise you that I will do my best to live up to being a symbol of peace and love at home with you! I say that I will do my best, because I do have a bit of prey drive; so I cannot promise I will be so loving and peaceful to small critters like cats, squirrels, or small dogs. But I have done well with some other dogs my own size. If you have a dog, have no fear! MAS does dog introductions before I go home to make sure we are a merry match!
Before meeting me, you should know that I am as sweet as a Christmas cookie and I love being around people…I have some pep in my step so I might be a little much for very small kids (I would hate to knock over a small one when I get excited with the zooms). They say that nobody is perfect, but I would have to say I have got to be pretty darn close!
If you have some extra smooches for a sweetheart like me, submit your adoption application to the website below to meet me!

GOOD IN A HOME WITH
Children, other cats
Meet Dawn, a pretty female with medium length black fur and warm golden eyes who arrived at the shelter with her brother, Casey who has since been adopted. Dawn is polydactyl, which makes her even more spectacular!
The person who had both Dawn and her brother, also had their mother and two other cats. She could not keep Dawn and Casey any longer and was having trouble finding a good home for them. They were well loved but it was too much for the former caretaker to manage. Dawn is a sweet cat. She likes pets and is okay with being held, especially once she is familiar with you. She actively seeking pets and attention and quality lap time.
Dawn would do well in a quieter home, with a routine and predictability. We know she can co-exist with other calm, friendly cats. Dawn is friendly, gentle, and loves affection. She is slightly curious, exploring new surroundings. Dawn would do great with a single or couple adopter. She would also be a good family cat, with older kids Just like a new dawn signals a new day and new chances so our Dawn deserves a second chance, too!
Dawn has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Dawn has an approximate birthdate of 07-04-24. Her adoption fee is $95.
