Furry Friday Profiles

The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process.  And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional cats, dogs, or farm animals looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

For additional information about each organization visit their websites or read our intro article to Furry Friday!

Vicky’s Pet Connection

Vicky’s Pet Connection works with the Kent County Animal Shelter to rescue cats and kittens.  They also take in dogs older in age and those needing special care. Here are their pets of the week.

Raising kittens is hard work and this pretty girl just finished raising her family.
Sophie was a patient and loving mom but now its time for her to be spoiled! Sophie is a quiet, 1 year old kitty who would love to find a quiet home to blossom in. She can be quite playful when she is comfortable with her surroundings but doesn’t enjoy a lot of noise and chaos. Do you enjoy a quiet life too? Come meet this girl!

Edie is a 14-16 week old kitten that would look perfectly at home perched beside an Egyptian queen! Just look at her gorgeous, smokey coat and elegant tail! She may look like royalty but she is all kitten and just as playful and silly as can be. She can be adopted alone but also has lots of kitten friends so…why not two?!

Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

My name is Arya, like the girl in the show “Game of Thrones”. I am such a good girl. My D.O.B. is 4/14/09. I am one of those sad cases where I lived all my life with my owner, and she got sick, and they had to give me away to animal control. I hope she is doing okay. I ended up at MAS and so far I love it. I get treats and walks. They say I could get a little better on my walks though….I am one of those dogs that just loves everyone. I like tennis balls and plush squeaky toys so I would love to go to a home that has those. I could be the best companion you have ever had. I love to cuddle and listen to stories.

My name is Blizzard. My D.O.B. is 5/01/10. I’m looking for a quiet home where I can hangout with my family. Short walks are fun, but I really enjoy just being a couch potato. I don’t enjoy living with dogs of any size, so I need a home where I will be the only dog so I can receive all of the attention. On walks I may pull toward other dogs so I need an owner that is physically strong. An owner with a calm and assertive pack leader personality would be best because I can be kind of bossy sometimes. Because of my size, I would do best with a home with older kids…I wouldn’t want to accidently knock over small children.

Carol’s Ferals

Carol’s Ferals specializes in trap, neuter, return (TNR), but they come across “friendlies” who are available for adoption. Here are their pets of the week.

Come sit on the floor and experience kitten mania!  Carol’s Ferals has herds of playful, lively, and entertaining kittens – white, black, orange, gray, calico, tabby, patch tabby – all need good, loving homes.

Meet Fredricka!  I’m a lap cat extraordinaire.  I am somewhat shy and fearful of cats and dogs, but love humans, petting, and laps.  I would probably do okay with one of my roommates, since I know them.  If love is what you are looking for, come sit on the floor and I’ll curl up in your lap.

Meet Horse!  My family moved and left me behind to fend for myself.  I used to curl up and sleep with their 8-year-old child every night.  I miss that.  Whenever I hear children’s voices, my ears perk up.  I really would love to find a new young friend to crawl into bed with.  Story time anyone?

Meet Lovebug!  I’ve been here since I was a wee kitten.  People overlook me because my eyes are always gunky, but I can’t help that.  I love running on the cat treadmill and playing with the red dot.  I am very affectionate, and give little love bites (not hard).
