50% gentleman, 50% derp-dog and 100% inquisitive…they say curiosity killed the cat, but what did it do to the dog? Lets find out together!
Spending time with my favorite people is by far one of the greatest thing in the world to me! I live for booty scratches and am so excited to snuggle up on the couch. Sometimes I get a little too excited and end up falling off the couch…Don’t worry, I am a hefty dude and wont hurt myself in my buffoonery. Some of my additional antics include chasing my shadow, playing with my food bowls, doing acrobatic somersaults for belly rubs, snuffling around into tight corners, and doing very “graceful” cannonball splashes in the MAS pond!
You may have noticed I have some pretty unique eyes. When I was rescued, I had what is called entropion (a condition in which my eyelids rolled inward against my eyeballs) that was surgically repaired and cured. This is something that should not cause me any future issues now that it has been corrected.
I am such a happy goofy guy – guaranteed to keep you laughing even on the most stressful days! But once I get all my “giddy’s” out, I am a complete gentleman and love to just laze about soaking up your company. It truly goes to speak of my resilience, because before I came to MAS, I was in a home that was not good to me…and they threw me out like I was garbage. You know what though, I know better. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure, and I am definitely a treasure to be had! Though, the experience has made meeting new people a bit intimidating for me…I am hoping that somewhere out there, there is a family that understands. Preferably a family that doesn’t have other pets…
If you are looking for a diamond in the rough, check out the MAS website below and submit your adoption application for a chance to meet me and bring me home!

Buddy is roughly 1-2 years old and guessed to be a Boxer/Pit Mix in need of his furever home. Buddy is full of love and would thrive in a home with a fenced in yard and other dogs to be a part of a pack. He’s is patient with his food and the shared water dishes and always waits his turn like a proper gentleman. He knows to sit and wait for dinner to be served and to wait for permission before eating as a family. He’s a smart guy and is eager to learn more! He’s trusting of humans and just wants to be loved. He has zero aggression in his soul but needs some guidance on how to control his excitement and strength. A good tug of war with one of his foster sibs or a long session on a bone will tire him out good though! His adoption fee is $250.
Second Chance Cats of West Michigan
Second Chance Cats is a 501(c)3 non-profit with a mission to help cats at municipal shelters who are at risk for euthanasia or were deemed unadoptable because of behavioral or medical issues. The group also works with other private rescues that are overcrowded and helps rehome cats that have been assessed as friendly when going through the trap-neuter-return process. Here is their pet of the week.

GOOD IN A HOME WITH
Children, other cats
Meet Mama Boots, a sweet tabby mama to her daughter, a patch tabby named Boots. Both of these gentle kitties were trapped by a volunteer, vetted, and socialized over the winter. They then made their way to Second Chance. We don’t believe they are bonded but would certainly do well as a pair for an adopter looking for 2 kitties.
Mama Boots purrs when pet and has an adorable chortle to tell you how much she enjoys the affection. She likes to play, especially with wand toys. Mama Boots is very sweet and is a calm, laid back kitty. Not much ruffles her. She would make a great couch companion. Mama Boots would also appreciate a window where she can look out at the wildlife and birds as she is very interested in her surroundings.
Mama Boots would do best in a home willing and able to portion her food and engage daily in play with her. For this reason if not adopted with little Boots, Mama Boots would do better as an only cat or in a household where there are microchipped feeders so that she only has access to hers. While we are happy Mama Boots has a hearty appetite, we know she will be healthier after losing a few pounds. Having an adopter willing to work with her would be amazing and so fulfilling to watch her progress. Mama Boots is so ready for a home of her own and an adopter giving her the love and security where she will thrive.
Mama Boots has been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Mama Boots has an approximate birthdate of 05-01-2022. Her adoption fee is $95.
