At Christmas time, holiday tinsel is one of the best ways to spruce up your home with some cheer and festivity; but wouldn’t it be great to have some of that same tinsel cheer for the whole year? I’m pretty sure that’s where I got the name, because that’s exactly what I do!
I think it’s pretty safe to say we all love the gifting aspect of the holiday season, and I am no exception. As you can see from the video on the MAS website, I love toys! Personally, my favorite aspect of every day, is quality time spent together. I am full of that “in front of the fireplace” warmth that is the highlight of the season…or really any season. Snuggling in the laps of all my friends, giving kisses, joy, and laughs every day of the year would be a dream come true!
While I can appreciate some kitty-time snuggles, I am much more apt to be in my person’s lap cuddling, but I am happy to share a home with a feline friend. I would be happiest in a home with older children that can handle my occasional puppy-like playstyle (that…and I can be a little vocal and pushy about my need for attention sometimes). I would love to have a doggy playmate, but I do need proper introductions with dogs, as I am dog selective. Being dog selective means that I have made several canine friends, but much like humans, I don’t care to be friends with every dog I meet. Any potential fur siblings will get the chance to meet me for a play date before I go home, to make sure we get along as well as ribbons and bows!
If you would like a little bit of every-day Christmas magic in your home, submit an adoption application to the website below, and I promise to decorate your heart and home with all my love!

Larry is 6 months old and almost 40 pounds. Quick details … he’s neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Crate and potty trained. Now on to the important stuff, HIS EARS. He likes to style them a variety of ways: one up one down, one sideways one down, one sideways one up, but his preference is the elusive double comb over. Larry loves all the dogs in all the sizes and is looking for a forever home with a playful dog companion. He loves all the people but sometimes gets excited so dog experienced kids would be best. If you would like to adopt Larry’s ears and the perfect black dog attached to them, his adoption fee is $275.
Second Chance Cats of West Michigan
Second Chance Cats is a 501(c)3 non-profit with a mission to help cats at municipal shelters who are at risk for euthanasia or were deemed unadoptable because of behavioral or medical issues. The group also works with other private rescues that are overcrowded and helps rehome cats that have been assessed as friendly when going through the trap-neuter-return process. Here is their pet of the week.

GOOD IN A HOME WITH
Children, other cats
Meet Amelia, a sweet little grey tabby girl who found her way to a barn full of feral cats. Amelia was friendly so the colony caretaker decided Amelia’s path would be different so luckily she came to Second Chance.
Amelia enjoys pets and has a spunky, curious side. She loves to play with balls and running through tunnels. She easily amuses herself but would like having any adopter to play with her, too. Her fun self has continued to grow as well as her affectionate side which she shows by purrs and leaning in for pets. Amelia is not only super cute she is friendly and fun and waiting for you!
Amelia does well with other cats so would be a good fit in a multi-cat household of friendlies. She would also do well as a solo cat for a single adopter or for a family.
Amelia has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $95. Amelia has an approximate birthdate of 02-07-23.
