GRIDCARD Week 42 Recap
Game 84: Hokie-Poked
Thayer Thomas caught an 18-yard TD pass from MJ Morris to bring NC State all the way back from 21-3 to beat the Virginia Tech Hokies 22-21. Thomas finished with 10 catches for a 110 yards. Morris completed 20-29 with 3 TDs. In the NFL, the Ravens also rallied in the second half, then hung on to beat the Bucs 27-22, handing Tampa Bay and Tom Brady his fifth loss in the last six games.
The GridCard surrendered some high scores, including three TallBoys. After three Top 10s in very limited action, The Dust (43) earned his first King of the Mountain this year. Ricco1947 (40) and Offroad stocked the other TBs, Ricco’s earning him the ProGrid Tour win. Eight other players posted Qualifying Scores: KaitMac (37), Lim Lamb (37) mac (37), Jeep Lover 2 (36), JD (35), Guy Green (33), EricCinTexas (32) and Rico (31). Offroad (83) put up a huge King Kong.
The two highest scores in Team GridCard went head-to-head, Team Collins coming away with the 79-77 win over TMac, The Dust (43) and Jeep Lover 2 (36) leading the way. The OG earned the split versus Fictionasy 61-54 behind brothers-in-law Rico (31) and jocko (30). Team Detwiler’s Top2 were Lim Lamb (37) and amcmayonnaise (28) as they swept LFL 65-54. VBar and the PGT finished dead even 66-66, but mac (37) and LD (29) were lifted by Barry (26) on the tiebreaker.

Game 83: Cover Blown
The Cincinnati Bearcats (-3) raced out to a 17-0 lead on the SMU Mustangs and led 29-14 to start the fourth quarter with Ryan Coe in to attempt a 44 yard field goal to put Cinci up by three scores. But a blocked FG and two backdoor touchdowns later–one of those TDs a tipped pass on fourth down from 16-yards out–and the Mustangs were a 2-point conversion away from tying the game. The defense regrouped and held, the Bearcats winning SU but crumbling ATS 29-27.
Offroad (43) was King of the Mountain, beating back the other TallBoy from Barry (41). This was Offroad’s second KOTM of the year. Annabelle (38) notched another Pro Grid Tour win. The GridCard surrendered lot of points, a full baker’s dozen of Qualifying Scores: Lim Lamb (38), Jodyann (36), Found Fish (36), Ricco1947 (36), MMc (33), MW (32), amcmayonnaise (32), Rico (31), Nutmeg (31), Dano (31), mac (31), Jkloo (31), and Mr. Jake 50 (29).
In Team GridCard action, the PGT got back on track thanks to Annabelle (38) and Ricco1947 (36), just edging VBar 74-72. Lim Lamb (38) and amcyanyonnaise (32) led Team Detwiler over LFL 70-62. Offroad (43) and Nutmeg (31) scored for TMac as they downed Team Collins 74-61. And Fictionasy was edged by the OG 62-53.
