We received the following press release from the Lowell Police Department.
Due to recent uptick in local scams and cons, the Lowell Police Department will be hosting an informal talk on how to be aware and protect yourself from these predators. The event is free and will be hosted at the Lowell City Hall, upper story conference room from 1pm-3pm, August 17th.
Topics that will be covered are:
- The evolution of the con
- Tactics the scammer/con artist use
- How to avoid becoming a victim
- Craigslist and Marketplace scams
