We received the following press release from Lowell Athletic Boosters.
The Girls (6-0) and Boys (3-2) Varsity Basketball Teams take on Northview Wildcats at home on Friday, Jan. 6th. Tip off is at 5:30 p.m. Local businesses are sponsoring free student admission in an effort to boost connection outside of the classroom, and free admission to this game is being sponsored by Impact Operations LLC.
An athletic event is a safe and supervised place for teenagers to come together. It allows schools to focus on the aspect of school pride, supporting classmates and staying connected to each other. Since COVID, teens continue to experience challenges with connecting outside of school that doesn’t involve their phones or social media. By removing ticket admission for students, this changes culture and the school is giving the green light for students to support each other.
