The Lowell Area Farmers’ Market Opens June 8

Moving this year to Veteran’s Park along Main Street across from the Riverwalk Plaza entrance, the Farmers’ Market will remain in the downtown area.  The new location will allow for increased visibility.  Every Thursday from June 8 through September 14 between noon and 5p.m. the west side of the parking lot will be filled with vendors.

Approximately 12 vendors will be selling merchandise each week.  Seasonal fruits and vegetables will be available when they are in season and able to be harvested.  Cheese, bread, maple syrup, coffee, fudge, eggs, Mead, natural non-toxic skin products, and clothing are among the items shoppers will find each week.

The parking lot at Veteran’s Park is a one way entrance and exit.  Vendors will set up on the west side of the lot.  Market traffic should travel to South Monroe Street and park in the lot behind Tap House Bo, Main Street BBQ, and Chimera Design.  The east side of the lot opposite vendors will remain open for parking and a means for vehicles to exit.  This area will be ideal for those who are handicapped or elderly allowing parking closer to vendors.  There will be signs indicating where to park each Thursday.

The Lowell Area Farmers’ Market has been a tradition since 2006.  “We work hard to make, grow, produce, and bring the products to the community.  The community can make the Farmers’ Market a success by shopping local and fresh.  We only do well when the community participates!” says Cinnimin Piggott, Market Master.  Enjoy the 2017 season by shopping at the market, grabbing a bite to eat, and taking in a Summer Concert Series performance on Thursdays.
