We received a copy of the following letter sent by Lowell Area Schools Superintendent Nate Fowler to district staff. The Lowell High School Principal position became open when previous principal Steve Gough transitioned to the role of Director of Teaching and Learning.
Dear Staff,
I’m excited to announce Dominic Lowe as the new Lowell High School Principal.
He was selected after an interview process that consisted of high school staff, district administrators and members from the board. Mr. Lowe also was a finalist for the Director of Teaching and Learning position where it became evident that he had the tools to be a leader in our district in some capacity.
The interview teams throughout described Mr. Lowe as a data-driven school leader who knows how to leverage the assets of the instructional staff to create the best outcomes for students. Mr. Lowe is an experienced and student-centered school principal with a proven track record of fostering a positive learning environment and improving student outcomes. He is also very passionate about school culture and climate development, career and technical educational experiences, and innovative learning opportunities in schools.
Mr. Lowe comes to us from East Kentwood High School where he has been the High School Freshman Center Principal for the past 5 years. Prior to that Mr. Lowe had 6 years of experience as an assistant principal and 14 years as a teacher; all for Kentwood Public Schools.
We look forward to welcoming him to LAS and supporting his transition to the Principal’s office at Lowell High School.
Regards,
Nate Fowler
