Lowell Area Schools End of Year Schedule

In communication sent to parents today, Superintendent Greg Pratt outlined the end of the year school schedule as of May 1.  It is still unclear whether or not the State of Michigan will take any action with regard to forgiving additional days off from school after a harsh winter and state of emergency declarations from Lansing.

The schedule sent to parents can be considered a worst case scenario if Lansing takes no further action in forgiving additional days taken during January’s polar vortex.  Communication indicates the week following the Memorial Day holiday will consist of four full days rather than a scheduled half day on May 31 as the original last day of school for the 2018-19 school year.  Monday, June 3 – Friday, June 7 will be full days of school.  The final day of school with this schedule will be a half day on Monday, June 10.

Additional information will be passed along as it becomes available should the State of Michigan forgive additional days off, which would reduce the number of days students will need to report to school in June.
