Lowell Business Updates and Online Shopping Sites

Coronavirus has shut down many businesses in town, and many of those remaining open have adjusted their services to ensure customers are able to safely shop and adhere to government recommended social distancing standards.

Below is the latest news from local stores. This shouldn’t be considered an exhaustive list, and we will add new business updates as we become aware of them. Arctic Inc. Heating & Cooling continues to offer its service 24/7. The company believes customers come first, and payment options are available when needed. Mention one of the coupons below to save on your next service call. Visit their website for more information on available services.

Hooper Printing is currently closed to the public, but orders can still be placed for delivery. Call them at 616-897-6719 or visit their website to get a quote on your next print job.

North Star Antiques is open for online shopping only.  Shop at anytime through the store’s online shopping portal. North Star Antiques offers an eclectic mix of items from records to novels to furniture. It also has Country Chic paint that is perfect for that long-delayed project you now have time to complete. A small jar of paint starts at $8.95 and orders of more than $50 ship free to outside Lowell. Follow the North Star Antiques Facebook page to see new items added daily.

Lowell Hemp Co is offering curbside pick-up on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 2-6pm. Orders must be placed online in advance through the Lowell Hemp Co website.

ACA Training Center: While the ACA Training Center is currently closed, its 2020 summer programs are still planned to go on as scheduled. You can view all their programs on their website.

Ability Weavers has temporarily closed its retail store. However, customers can still order through the store’s Etsy shop or browse products online and call 616-929-0211 to order. Porch pick-up available, or items may be shipped.

Bettie’s Pages is closed to in-store shopping and deliveries.  You can order online through Bookshop. Audiobook fans can support Bettie’s Pages with a subscription to libro.fm and get two audiobooks for the price of one with the code SHOPBOOKSTORESNOW. Finally, tune into Facebook each night at 7pm for a virtual storytime.

Capital Nails is offering cloth masks, gift certificates and spa kits right now. They will also have custom press-on nails that are being shipped for people to apply at home. See the Capital Nails Facebook page for more details.

Chimera Design is temporarily closed to walk-in sales. Visit their website to see an online catalog of available items for pick-up.

Creative Party Bug is offering curbside pick-up of several items such as creative kits with DIY projects to complete at home. See the Creative Party Bug Facebook page for more details.

Curtis Cleaners is open and working to maintain a safe and sanitized space. They ask that customers come alone to do their laundry, if possible, wait in their vehicles while clothing is being washed and dried and then fold their items at home. For those who would rather not come in to do their laundry, Curtis Cleaners offers a “Wash, Dry, Fold” service in which they will wash, dry and fold your laundry for you. The store is continuing its existing pick-up and delivery stops as well. Dry cleaning customers can call the route manager at 616-307-0544 to use this free service. Curtis Cleaners is also working to accommodate laundry pick-ups for the elderly, immunocompromised and others who cannot leave their home. While they can’t guarantee they can accommodate all pick-up requests, call the route manager at 616-307-0544, and they will do their best to help. They are also offering free service to frontline workers.

Flat River Gallery and Framing is offering gift certificates, online sales and shopping by appointment. Customers can see items for sale on the Flat River Gallery Facebook page or by appointment.

Lowell Ada Express is offering same-day and next-day delivery from many area stores and websites. They have local restaurant specials this week including Alto Bar Steak Night Delivery on Friday as well as Mothers Day deliveries of flowers from Heidi’s. Visit their website or Facebook page for more information.

Meijer has changed its hours from 8am-10pm each day. Senior citizens and those with chronic health conditions can shop from 7am-8am on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Meijer team members and essential service workers can shop from 7am-8am on Mondays and Wednesdays. Pay-at-pump fuel will be available for purchase 24/7.

Red Barn Market is offering a full range of grocery items. They suggest calling ahead for food or cider orders, and you can reach the store at 616.987.3182⁠. A list of items sold in the store can be found on Facebook.

Rookies is offering curbside pick-up and free delivery to local residents. See their Facebook page for more details.

Tap House Bo offers online shopping, can do curbside pick up or will deliver to your home or business via Tap House Takeout. They will even wait in the car while you try on your new outfit to make sure it fits.
