We received the following press release from the Lowell Rotary Club.
In May, we celebrate one of the most inspiring pillars of Rotary: Youth Service Month.
This is our time to honor the energy, idealism, and passion of young people and recognize the powerful impact they make through Rotary’s youth programs—Interact, Rotaract, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), Rotary Youth Exchange, and more.
Moreover, it’s a time to emphasize developing leaders for the future. Lowell Rotary Club is proud to facilitate a scholarship program that encourages youth to participate in the community and the world and discover the power of our motto: Service Above Self. More information on Rotary and all its programming can be found at www.rotary.org.
The Lowell Rotary Club presented thirteen Lowell High School Seniors with scholarships at the Lowell High School Senior Honors night on May 13, 2025. Applicants for the scholarships submitted an application and completed an interview with members of the Lowell Rotary Community Foundation Scholarship Committee. Demonstration of how the applicants participate in the community and how their participation has impacted them is part of the determination process.
The scholarship program is a long-standing service of Lowell’s Rotary Club and our Lowell Rotary Club Community Foundation. Thirteen different scholarships are available in honor of the following people:
- The Hahn/Rotary Scholarship
- King & Marie Doyle
- Dorothy J. & Clinton J. Christoff
- Eva & Lee Lampkin
- Jim & Bobbie White
- Donald & Ellura McPherson
- Betsy Davidson
We thank the leaders past and present that make this program possible.

The Lowell Rotary Club is a service organization that contributes to many local projects including FROM’s mobile food pantry, serving food at Lowell’s Open Table, highway cleanup along Fulton St. in Lowell, and spearheading the rebuild of the King Milling Creekside Kingdom playground among other things. We’re always looking for others that embrace Service Above Self and welcome them to become part of our mission.
