LowellArts Hosts Juried Exhibition for Grand Valley Artists

We received the following press release from LowellArts about their latest exhibition.

LOWELL, MI, January 10, 2018 – On display at LowellArts through February 10 is an all-media juried exhibition of Grand Valley Artist members. The exhibition, juried by Fred Bivins, highlights the exceptional talent and professionalism of the Grand Valley Artists. 98 pieces of artwork are featured by 41 different artists.

Gallery hours are:

  • Tues-Fri 10am-6pm
  • Saturday 10am-5pm

LowellArts is located at 223 W Main St, Lowell, MI 49331. Admittance to the gallery is free.

Grand Valley Artists is an art group based in Grand Rapids where artist members of all levels and media are welcome to meet, discuss, learn, and grow. Founded in 1957, GVA is one of the oldest art groups in the Midwest and the oldest in Michigan.

Juror, Fred Bivins, announced four award winners at the artist reception on Sunday, January 7. Artists were presented with cash awards.

  • Doug Klemm – 1st Place Award – Under an English Sky, oil on canvas
  • Larry Blovits – 2nd Place Award – A Pause to Ponder, pastel on paper
  • Joanne Swann – 3rd Place Award – Two Palms, monoprint
  • Marty Klar – 4th Place Award – Rose Parade, photograph
