We received the following information from Pink Arrow Pride.

As 2023 winds to a close, Pink Arrow Pride has distributed the funds it raised during the past year. The organization notes that it was another successful year of fundraising and t-shirt sales, reflecting an incredibly supportive community.

Funds were distributed as follows:

  • Gilda’s Club of Lowell: $50,000
  • Lowell Community Wellness: $45,000
  • College Scholarships: $4,000

Money from Pink Arrow Pride helps fund the Lowell Clubhouse of Gilda’s Club, which is a non-profit offering a variety of resources and support services to families affected by cancer or grieving the loss of a loved one for any reason.

Meanwhile, the funds allocated to Lowell Community Wellness provide monetary support for individuals and families on a cancer journey. Family support applications can be found online.

Finally, the scholarships — which are available to Lowell High School students — are named for Kathy Talus, who was a teacher and coach at Lowell High School, and Dr. Donald Gerard.

A check for Gilda’s Club was presented at the organization’s annual holiday party. The event allows club members to spend a festive evening together with good food, good company and, of course, a visit from Santa.

In announcing the fund distribution, Pink Arrow Pride had this to say:

Our greater Lowell Community has shown our care and support for all these years and we will move forward in the new year, continuing to wrap our arms around those on a cancer journey. Thank you to everyone that continues to support this cause.
