FLAT RIVER OUTREACH MINISTRIES (FROM) ANNOUNCES EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TRANSITION

LOWELL: The Board of Directors of FROM announce Dawn Broene has notified them of her resignation as Executive Director of the Christian non-profit organization. The Board and Broene will now begin a six-month succession plan to secure FROM’s next Executive Director.

“As a Board of Directors, we were saddened to receive Dawn’s resignation because she has been a great asset during her five years in this role. She has spent her tenure moving the organization forward, connecting with the community, and fostering a spirit of welcoming and acceptance to all. Under her leadership, FROM has switched its focus from simply providing a service to also empowering people to create paths to reach their goals. She has led the organization with grace and dignity and she will be missed by all,” says Bob Rogers, FROM Board Secretary.

In a letter to volunteers and staff Broene acknowledged that her time at FROM has made a big difference in her life “When I started volunteering [at FROM] in the fall of 2008, I never could have imagined how much this organization would impact my life”, she shared. “This was not a decision I made quickly or without much thought and prayer. It has been known by the Board, staff, and some volunteers and community members that after my son’s graduates in 2021 we may be moving from the Lowell area and I had planned to exit shortly before that time. However, after much prayer and leading, I feel God has changed that timeframe and has laid it on my heart to start this process now.”

Broene says she plans to take this time to pursue a career in real estate, a long-held passion that she’s put on the back burner for a while now.

Her exit comes with the Boards support, “When you care about someone, like we do Dawn, you want to see them pursue their passions. While we are saddened to see her go, we are excited for this next chapter of her life and are grateful for her support in helping choose the next leader of this great organization,” says Ryan Kresge, FROM Board Chair.
