We received the following press release from Sound Check.

In August of 2020, Lowell United Methodist Church renovated their education building to create Sound Check. Sound Check is an intimate concert venue and collaborative space for music for the community.

In November, Sound Check introduced a virtual concert series called Sound Check Presents. Every Friday from November 20th through December 18th at 7:30pm a live concert is streamed on the @SoundCheckLowell Facebook page.

This week, Sound Check is incredibly proud to showcase Liam Doyle on the Sound Check stage. Liam is a 17-year-old local celebrity who happens to have down syndrome. He is an Elvis Tribute Artist and will be sharing his gift with the community live on stage.

Liam has overcome a lot in the past few years perfecting his craft and preparing himself to take his talent to the masses. He has taken voice lessons, speech therapy, stage presence classes, audience participation workshops and more. In fact, his motivation to learn to read was specifically so that he could read and learn Elvis’s lyrics.

We look forward to putting together a concert series featuring all differently abled people and showcasing their talents. Liam is the first of what we hope to be many in the coming year.

This week’s concert will be broadcast on Twitch and shared on the Sound Check Facebook Page. The concert begins at 7:30pm on Friday, December 4, and is expected to last 1 hour. People are encouraged to view and post and share comments of encouragement for Liam as he takes the stage.
