Press Release: Ultrasound Dedication at Alpha Family Center in Lowell

We received the following press release from the Knights of Columbus.

June 27th, 2018 — The Knights of Columbus Council 7719 at St. Mary’s Church in Lowell proudly dedicated a new 3D ultrasound machine to the Alpha Family Center in Lowell.

Funds were collected from parishioners and members of the community, including all profits from the 2018 Lenten Fish Fry, which the Knights worked hard to complete. Profits doubled from the 2017 Fish Fry and were enough to complete the $18,128 target. A dollar-for-dollar match from Knights of Columbus Supreme Council helped complete the purchase of this 47th ultrasound in Michigan sponsored by the Knights of Columbus.

The dedication was held at Alpha Family Center’s new building next door and was filled with supporters, including many from the Lowell Knights of Columbus.

The Knights of Columbus is the largest fraternal organization in the world, dedicated to providing charitable funds for various non-profits that align with the values of the Catholic Church.

Opening and Dedication prayers by Father Aaron Ferris and closing prayer by Pastor Jon Pickens. Dedication was co-hosted by Executive Director Christa Wetzel of Alpha Family Center. Tim Hess served as Grand Knight during the project.
