Recreation Plans Available for Public Review

The City of Lowell and Lowell Area Recreation Authority have recreation plans currently available for public review.  Following a review period public hearings will be held to discuss and potentially adopt each plan.  For those wishing to view and provide input on either or both plan, they are available for review and comment.

The city and LARA must each have their own recreation plan in place in order to be eligible to apply for MDNR funds to be used for future trails and parks.

Parks and Recreation Master Plan
The Parks and Recreation Commission for Lowell has a draft of their five-year master plan available for public review.  A public hearing regarding the adoption of the plan will occur during the regular City Council meeting on Tuesday, February 20.  The meeting starts at 7pm in City Council Chambers at City Hall.

Copies of the Parks and Recreation Master Plan can be found at City Hall, Englehardt Library on online here.   The public notice regarding the document is also available online.

Lowell Area Recreation Authority Recreation Plan
The Lowell Area Recreation Authority (LARA) also has a draft recreation plan available for review by the public.  There will be a public hearing set for sometime in late February.

Copies of the LARA Recreation plan can be found at City Hall, Lowell Township offices, Vergennes Township offices, and Englehardt Library and online here.  Input regarding the document can be submitting via an online form or printing the questionnaire email, mail, or drop off responses to any of the three government entities.  Input must be received by February 26.
