If you missed Christmas Through Lowell yesterday, you still have time to shop today and tomorrow. Initially started a way for non-hunters to pass the time during the opening weekend of the firearm deer season, the annual event has turned into a shopping extravaganza featuring the work of more than 300 artisans and crafters.

While all locations should be open today, Saturday, be aware that some are closed on Sunday. Visit the Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce website for a complete list of participating locations and hours.
We made the rounds to several stops on Friday and if you’re planning to head out today or tomorrow, here’s a peak at what you might see.
Vendor locations include a mix of businesses and private residences. Head to stop 43, Dairy Discovery at SwissLane Farms, and you can sample some delicious products, shop a variety of food and craft gifts and vote for your favorite Christmas tree.
Each tree has been decorated by a different area non-profit, and SwissLane Farms will award $500 to the organization whose tree garners the most votes.
While you’re south of town, don’t forget to visit stop number 38. GlessBoards has a variety of handcrafted wood products and is the featured artist in this year’s Christmas Through Lowell.
At stop number 22, the Lowell Women of the Moose have arranged for several crafters to offer their wares. This is Jordyn Vriesman who is offering henna tattoos, crocheted items and baked goods.
The Playful Preservationist is also at stop number 22 and offers a wide variety of jams.
For those who want to see the maximum number of vendors in the shortest period of time, location number 16 at the First Congregational Church of Lowell can be a good stop. It offers vendors of all kinds, starting with these stunning nature photos as you walk in the door.
Inside, there is a food booth, crafts from the Lowell Women’s Club and more than 25 vendors offering items ranging from antiques to jewelry.
Many businesses in Lowell’s historic downtown participate in Christmas Through Lowell so you’ll want to plan some time there as well. This festive display is at LowellArts which kicks off its Holiday Artists Market during the Christmas Through Lowell weekend.
At Flat River Gallery and Framing, stop J, there is art of all kinds for sale, including these beautiful, handmade journals.
The Lowell Area Historical Museum, stop M, is another place to see multiple vendors. Local author Emma Palova is signing her latest book, there are hand poured soy jar candles and uniquely Michigan gifts such as Petoskey stone pendants and this copper-infused brick from the upper peninsula that has been crafted into the shape of Michigan’s lower peninsula. The latter are offered by Baba’s, located in the fur traders room of the museum.
Of course, part of the charm of Christmas Through Lowell is being able to stop in the private residences of artisans throughout town. Many have decorations, music and more to enhance the shopping experience. This display can be found at stop number 45, A Riverside Christmas.
On Lafayette, there are Lowell-inspired gifts, sweet treats and other items at stop number 31, Studio 506.
This adorable stuffed animals are among the items offered at stop number 15, Eclectic Finds on Suffolk Street.
Just north of town at stop 30, Deirdre’s Cakes and Bakes has gourmet sweets of all kinds including Michigan cookies decorated in the colors of the Lowell Red Arrows.
If you work up an appetite from all that shopping, you can stop into one of the downtown restaurants or pick up food at vendor locations such as the United Methodist Church. Lunch will also be served 11am-2pm on Saturday at the Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce building on the Riverwalk. The Lowell Women’s Club is offering homemade soups, sandwiches and pies and proceeds help fund scholarships for Lowell High School seniors.
As you’re shopping, don’t forget to pick up a punch card. Once you visit 15 locations, you can drop off your card at any stop to be entered into their drawing. This box of goodies is the prize being offered by Dierdre’s Cakes and Bakes.
Christmas Through Lowell is your opportunity to get an early start on your holiday shopping while supporting Lowell-area artisans.
