The Alpha Family Center held its annual Friendship Banquet last Thursday, with 234 people on-hand for the fun. The banquet was a chance for the non-profit to thank its volunteers and supporters as well as raise funds for the upcoming year.

The banquet had an Old Country Fair theme, and the evening’s MC, Josh McCracken, came dressed for the part.
Every good fair needs lots of sweets, and the Friendship Banquet was no exception. An old-fashioned cart was loaded with goodies for those in attendance to share.
For those feeling a little salty, there was also plenty of popcorn.
If that weren’t enough, there was a lemonade stand, photo booth and pie for guests to enjoy.
Comedian Derrick Tennant provided the entertainment.
Assistant Director Alyssa Harp and Executive Director Christa Wetzel provided an update, and at the end of the celebration, more than $22,000 was pledged by attendees to support the work of Alpha Family Center. That money goes to provide free ultrasounds, baby supplies, GED classes, ESL classes and more to local families.
