Scenes from Lowell: Harvest Celebration Edition

Weather for Saturday’s events throughout the community was chilly but otherwise great for a day of celebrating fall.  The community came out to take in activities and here are some of the things we captured.  Special thanks to Bruce Doll for allowing us to use some of his photos as well.

Unfortunately we didn’t make it to the annual Harvest Hustle 5k in downtown.  But we did make it out to the pancake breakfast at Wittenbach Wege Center (WWC).  Lowell’s Future Farmers of America group ran the pancake breakfast.  Those who came out to WWC were also able to do some apple tasting and watch a cider press demonstration.

At Recreation Park, activities in and around the Kent County Youth Fair buildings including vendors selling fall items, Lowell Light & Power showing off their utility pole climbing abilities and hosting pumpkin painting, and scarecrow making.

Nearby, the Lowell Area Fire Department was hosting an open house.  Visitors were able to ride in a fire truck, see other department vehicles up close, and watch demonstrations.  And a few Disney princesses were also taking photos with fans!

And many ended the afternoon tasting scrumptious chili along North Broadway.
