Scenes from Lowell: MLK Peace Walk Edition

Students at Cherry Creek Elementary School held their peace walk this past Tuesday (due to the cold temperature day on Monday).  First they gathered in the gym to listen to Principal Shelli Otten talk about Martin Luther King, Jr. and his message.  Retired second grade teacher Kim Lum also spoke about service and the different ways students have helped others.  Finally, some students read what they had made on their signs.  Each student made a sign representing what they could do to shine their light and help others.

After the indoor assembly the entire student body, along with their teachers, walked from Cherry Creek to Lowell Middle School.  The line of approximately 800 students nearly stretched between the two schools.  At the Middle School students there cheered on the elementary students.  Below are some of the photos from the afternoon assembly and walk.
