Scenes from Lowell: Along the Riverwalk Edition

Even when there isn’t an event happening along the Riverwalk it’s a great place to walk, enjoy the outdoors, or even sit on a bench and read a book.

Duck enjoy summertime on the Flat River.  They’re eager for food from visitors.  Did you know bread is like a treat for ducks and not very nutritious for them?  Try feeding them kernels of corn or peas.

Looking north clouds make for an interesting photo.  Have you used the kayak launch along the river?

Vegetation creates a relaxing atmosphere.  Riverwalk improvements in recent years has made the area a destination.

It wouldn’t be a walk along the Riverwalk without a stop near the Showboat.

Have you ever stopped to read the historic information about Lowell on these signs?  They can be found throughout the historic district.  Take a moment to read about Lowell’s history.

The next time you’re near the Riverwalk take some time to explore and take in the sights.  Pack a book and a picnic lunch or dinner and hang out for a while.  It’s a great place to allow life to slow down and appreciate things which may go unnoticed with a hectic lifestyle.
