Scenes from Lowell: Around the Town Edition

It was a hot one this week in Lowell, but we survived the sweltering heat. While you were enjoying the AC inside, here’s what what was happening outside.

The Chinook Hops are off to a good start at 43 Degrees Hopyard in Lowell. We’ll have more on this later.

Speaking of hops, Matthew Fouts has been busy getting ready for the grand opening of Big Boiler Brewing on June 24th.

MI Hometown Furnishings now has a sign out front…just in case you were wondering why all those people were streaming into the old Superior Furniture Factory.

On Thursday, the Lowell Showboat Sizzlin’ Summer Concerts series got off to a blistering start, both musically and meteorologically.

To keep cool on Friday, some people took refuge in the Lowell Performing Arts Center. There, the Lowell High School Drama Club put on the short comedy Brief Interviews with Internet Cats. We hear it was the purrfect way to spend 50 minutes.

This was the type of week in which walking to the mailbox seemed like a major undertaking. If only we had the energy of these kids. 90 degree days? No problem! Track camp was a hit among the younger set.

Keep on keepin’ on Lowell.
