Scenes from Lowell: Fall is Finally Here Edition

According to the calendar, it’s been fall for more than a month. It sure hasn’t felt that way though. The summer heat lingered well into October, but now the weather has finally cooled. Furnaces have been turned on, coats have been unearthed from closets and Lowell is ready to embrace the season. (Right?)

The Lowell Showboat has been decked out in autumn colors for quite a few weeks now.

After a slow start, the color season is in full swing. It’s not just the leaves on the trees that are changing either as the shrubbery by City Hall demonstrates.

If you haven’t already gotten your pumpkins for Halloween, the clock is ticking.

Heidi’s Farmstand has plenty from which to choose in its u-pick patch and by its building.

Lots of downtown stores have their seasonal decor on display. These Halloween figurines were spotted at Flat River Cottage.

The fall also means its time for another LowellArts theater production. This time around, the group is putting on the Dixie Swim Club.

Lowell’s First Look took in the Friday night performance,  in which dinner was delicious and the performance provided a perfect escape. While there doesn’t seem to be a bad seat in the house, we were fortunate enough to be as close to the stage as you can without actually being on it. Some shows are full, but if you can snag some tickets to one of next weekend’s performances, we highly recommend it.

Now that fall is here, we are hoping to soak up the next few weeks enjoying the crisp air and sipping hot apple cider. We hope you’ll be embracing the season too. Winter is coming.
