Scenes from Lowell: Get Out and Celebrate Earth Day Edition

There has been a lot of activity in the community this week!  With all the rain we’ve had and warmer temperatures seemingly sticking around leaves on trees and various plants popping up out of the ground are good reminders of nature’s beauty.

Happy Earth Day!  With the sun showing it’s a great day to get outside and enjoy the day.  There’s still time to enjoy some outside time this Earth Day.

While we were unable to capture a photo of the Easter Bunny, we were alerted to dinosaurs roaming through the neighborhood. Never fear though! These were not strange dinosaurs terrorizing local children, but a parent in disguise.

It’s Earth Day today, and 4 year-old preschoolers at St. Patrick School commemorated the annual event by making hand print art in class on Friday.

The Lowell High School Boys’ Lacrosse team hostedb their annual mother/son dance.   This year’s theme was cowboys.  Kids could play corn hole, shoot down stacks of cans, rope cattle, make a vase for mom, and more!

Scrumptious treats and drinks found all over Lowell during Thursday night’s Girls’ Night Out .

Second grade classes at Cherry Creek Elementary learned about pioneer life through the Lowell Area Historical Museum’s Grandma’s Trunk presentation.

Lowell National Honor Society helping with the pond restoration project at Wittenbach Center today.  The pond is being drained and will then be enlarged.

Lowell Little League EDL kicks off their season today at Creekside Park.  Their season runs for another five weeks if you’re interested in watching five and six-year olds play.  Photo courtesy of Melissa Bailey.

And last but certainly not least, a reminder that construction on Jefferson Street will begin on Monday.
