Scenes from Lowell: Happy Birthday Englehardt Library Edition

On May 13 Englehardt Library celebrated its 20th birthday at its present location.  If you weren’t able to make it to the party here are some photos from the event.

Branch Manager Heather Wood-Gramza began by making remarks about what is currently going on at the library.  Chuck Meyers, Dave Pasquele, former branch manager Jane Aronson, and Joy Smith of Friends of the Englehardt Libary also spoke about their memories of building the library.

Joy Smith of Friends of the Englehardt Library officially broke ground on the Friends of the Library Reading and Chess Garden.  The Friends group is working with the Lowell Middle School Chess Club to have a granite chess table on the south side of the library.

The Rotary Reading Deck was dedicated during a ribbon cutting ceremony.  The Lowell Rotary Club donated money for materials for the deck and volunteer time to build it.

It wouldn’t be a birthday party without cake!  Cupcakes and fruit infused lemonade were provided by Miss P’s Catering.

It also wouldn’t be a birthday party without ice cream!  John Sterly and his truck carrying homemade ice cream was a hit with kids and adults.

Future generations will have the opportunity to enjoy library programs and resources.

There were also things for kids to do.  Set up outdoors, planting seeds in cups decorated with a face, decorating a crown, and lawn games for available for hands-on activities.

Congratulations to KDL’s Englehardt Branch on their 20th birthday.  We’re happy you’re in our community!
