Scenes from Lowell: The Last Week of Summer Break Edition

This is the final weekend before the new school year begins.  Here’s a look at what happened around Lowell this week.  If you take photos next week during the first week of school send them to us via email and we’ll use them in next week’s Scenes from Lowell: The First Week of School Edition.

Monday evening Lowell High School Athletic Director Dee Crowley spoke before a presentation to freshman and youth athletics parents The Role of Parents in Athletics.

Tuesday evening Indivisible Lowell held a panel where individuals with various political views answered questions as a means to learn about differing opinions in today’s politics.

School must be starting soon if a PTO board is looking for volunteers.  Will you look to volunteer at your child’s school or sporting events this year?

Thursday kicked off Pink Arrow festivities for this year.  Community Day was a bit damp but that didn’t stop the community from coming out and supporting a good cause.  Shirts were available for purchase for the first time.  You can now pick up a shirt at Springrove and PepTalk.

Somewhere between Thursday evening and Friday morning the nameplate bearing the name Robert E. Lee was removed from the Showboat.  (If you’d like to join the discussion go to this Facebook thread.)

Chair-A-Tee chairs were moved to LowellArts Friday afternoon.  With all of them in one place, making the decision on which chair(s) to bid on is made easier.  Bidding will end Saturday, August 26 at 3pm.
