The Lowell Riddler: Riddle #6 Solved!

The Lowell Riddler is hiding medallions in the City of Lowell and offering area residents the chance to win a prize of local gift cards. Look for a new clue or riddle each Saturday!

The sixth medallion was located on a piece of Lowell history that you might drive by every day and never notice. We thought maybe the first line of the clue meant the old Post Office, but Josh Hoppough knew right where to go: to the old turbine by the dam.

Here’s what The Lowell Riddler sent us when announcing the winner and the answers behind the riddle:

Congratulations!

Josh Hoppough from Saranac!

He won a prize pack that included Lowell Bucks from Canfield Plumbing & Heating
and a gift certificate from Red Barn Consignments & Antiques!

Also included are gift cards from an anonymous donor
for Flat River Grill and Sneakers Bar & Grill!

Here are the clues and the answers:

Yes, I’m a bit old, (Turbines by the dam)
but there’s a younger voice nearby (Water sound)
I was the first one around, (Circa 1850 used to power Lowell’s first flour mill – Forest Mill)
but later said goodbye
Now I’m settled in, as a portrait of yesterday
Proud to be seen, instead of tossed away
