This Weekend in Lowell: Music, Farm Fun and a Family Movie

The sun is shining, the birds are singing and you absolutely don’t want to miss your chance to attend at least one of these events happening this weekend in Lowell.

Concerts at LowellArts

If you like live music, this is a great weekend for you. LowellArts is hosting shows on both Friday and Saturday at its Main Street location.

First up is the Blue Water Ramblers who play folk music of various styles. The founding band member hails from Lowell, and many of the group’s songs have Michigan and Great Lakes references.

The second concert is the LowellArts Jamboree which will feature music from several youth bands. Zac Bron, Alien Dogs and The Preservers are all slated to perform. If you like rock music, you’ll want to check this out. The Preservers were nominated for Best Album by a New Band and Best Album of the Year awards in the 2017 WYCE Jammie Awards.

Cost: $5 suggested admission fee, merchandise and concessions available for purchase

Fun on the Farm at the Wittenbach Wege Center

With beautiful weather in the forecast, you certainly don’t want to spend the entire weekend indoors. Enjoy the sun and the warm air at the Fun on the Farm! event being held at the Wiitenbach Wege Center. The local FFA chapter will be on-hand to show off a collection of barnyard animals to visitors both young and old. You can also check out the progress on the pond restoration project.

Birthday Bash at Red Barn Market

Red Barn Market is celebrating its third anniversary with a Birthday Bash. If you’ve never visited this shop near Murray Lake, you’re missing out. Stop by tomorrow for free popcorn and cotton candy all day and face painting from 1-3pm. The birthday cake will be cut at noon. Then cuddle up on the lawn for a family movie at dusk. It promises to be a fun day for the entire family.
