Whether you are new to Lowell or a lifelong resident, the Expo is the place to be this weekend. Now in its 21st year, the annual event brings together more than 150 organizations and businesses serving the Lowell area. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about our community as well as grab a meal and maybe even win a prize or two.
Although Expo is the main event this weekend in Lowell, there are also happenings at the elementary schools and Wittenbach Wege Center today and tomorrow.
Don’t Miss the One-Day Only Expo
You only have one chance to go to Expo, and that is tomorrow. The Lowell High School gyms will be transformed as more than 150 businesses, non-profits, churches and government representatives set up booths to share information about their groups.
Many booths have pens, candy or other goodies for the taking, and some will holding prize drawings you won’t want to miss. Plus, the Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce, which is hosting the event, will be raffling off door prizes and holding a trivia game from 2-3pm. That’s when the biggest awards of the day will be handed out.
Of course, the Expo is about more than restocking your pens. There will live entertainment on the main stage, and Ninjas on the Move can be found in the Hall of Fun. There, you can get a taste of the American Ninja Warrior Adventure, complete with a warped wall, cliffhanger, salmon ladder and other obstacles to try out. If all that makes you hungry, lunch will be available for purchase.

Other Happenings This Weekend in Lowell
If you have a student at Bushnell or Cherry Creek Elementary School, don’t forget the school carnival is tonight, March 24, from 4:30-7:30pm. If your kids find it fun, maybe consider volunteering next year. It’s a great event that only happens because of the hard work of a team of dedicated parents.
Then, on Sunday, March 26, from 1-3pm, you can get seeds for your garden at the Wittenbach Wege Center Seed Swap. You can swap or donate seeds that are up to four years old. The nature center will also have heirloom and traditional seeds available for sale. The swap starts Sunday but will continue during the center’s regular hours until June 9th.
