Lowell, Michigan – The Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the upcoming Lowell Area Job Fair, a community-wide event set to take place on Tuesday, September 24, at the Lowell Middle School, from 4 PM to 7:30 PM. This event is aimed at bringing local businesses and job seekers together to explore employment opportunities across a range of industries. From entry-level positions to specialized roles, the job fair will provide opportunities for individuals of all skill levels and backgrounds to connect with potential employers.
“Hiring and retaining talent is obviously a top concern for many employers. So when a job fair was suggested by Chamber Members, we then pitched the idea to all of our members via an online survey to gauge interest. We quickly understood the broader need for this event – for both employers and job seekers alike,” according to Shannon Kennedy, Executive Director, Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce. “Leaning into this opportunity was an easy decision.”
The job fair will feature an estimated 30 companies, including major employers such as Litehouse, Inc. and Enwork, as well as small businesses eager to grow their teams. Companies and attendees do not need to be based in Lowell to attend, however. “Draw a 20-mile radius around Lowell, and we believe we are surrounded by companies and quality candidates anxious to meet,” adds Kennedy. Attendees are encouraged to bring resumes or application info, network with hiring managers, and take advantage of on-the-spot interviews.
To support attendees, Flat River Outreach Ministries (FROM) is offering services, including resume building and interview skills, to anyone in the Lowell community before and during the event. “These free resources are excellent for both first-time job seekers and seasoned professionals looking to improve their skills”, states Monica Light, FROM Program Manager.
