Join Lowell’s Open Table on Saturday, September 7, at 6 pm for their biennial fundraiser. It’s for a good cause and is bound to be delicious: the menu will feature Spanish fare, including authentic paella, savory tapas and refreshing sangria.
Feeding the Community, One Meal at a Time
For more than eight years now, Lowell’s Open Table has been serving free dinner to the Lowell community. Every Thursday, all Lowell residents are invited to gather with their neighbors for a sit-down, home-cooked meal.
Katy Mork, president of the Lowell’s Open Table Board of Directors, estimates that the organization serves an average of one hundred meals a week, for a grand total of about 40,000 meals served since the non-profit’s inception. Mork says that the fundraiser is an integral part of Lowell’s Open Table being able to purchase enough food to continue to serve the Lowell community weekly free meals.
Spanish Soirée Details
Tickets for the Spanish Soirée fundraiser are $45 if purchased before September 1 ($50 after 9/1), and the ticket price includes the delicious Spanish-themed food and beverages as well as music, dancing and community, all for an excellent cause.
This year, there will also be a gift card wall, featuring gift cards worth $20 or more to local businesses that guests may bid on. Mork says the idea is to be able to support some local small businesses while also raising money for Lowell’s Open Table.
