Christmas Through Lowell Featured Artist: Lailo Designs

Kaily VanLaan and BethAnn Mann together created Lailo Designs, which opened in 2007. This is also the first year the two participated in Christmas Through Lowell (CTL). The two stay-at-home moms have always enjoyed crafting together and throwing cute parties for their kids. When friends and family started asking the pair to do parties and events it was the perfect time to start a business.

A Love for Crafting

VanLaan has lived in Lowell her whole life while Mann and her family live in Grandville. The two met through their husbands, who played football together in college. They have 10 kids between their two families.

VanLaan and Mann enjoy making new things, especially holiday and home decor. Working with brides preparing for a wedding is one of their favorite things to do. “From invites and programs to centerpieces and decor, we love helping the couple make their day unique to them,” says VanLaan.

Items for their Santa’s Sweet Shoppe are the most time-consuming so preparation starts early to be ready for holiday events and special orders. Items from this part of their line make great teacher gifts and stocking stuffers. Other popular items sold during CTL are cocoa kits, calendars, home and Christmas decor, and handmade cards. Items sold will range from $1 – $50.

Visit Stop #21

Lailo Designs will be located at Stop #21 located at 1870 Alden Nash NE and will be open all three days of the event. Veterans when it comes to participating in CTL, VanLaan comments, “We love the atmosphere of the whole weekend. We enjoy seeing the same people each year and always meeting new people. It is fun to hear all the traditions that people have for that weekend!”

When not preparing for and participating in CTL, VanLaan and Mann also have a booth at the Rogue River event at Lowell High School every year. Additionally, they’re available for special events including weddings, birthday parties, graduation open houses, bridal and baby showers, as well as special orders on all of their products.

Follow Lailo Designs on Facebook and Instagram to see information about their products and when they’ll be participating in craft events.
