The following animals are available for adoption. If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly. Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process. And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional animals looking for new homes. Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

Are you ready for a bundle of love and energy? Look no further, because Claire is here to steal your heart and brighten your days!
Beings that I came from a pretty rough background, I am a bit nervous with newbies…But once I trust you, buckle up and get ready for 80lbs of pure smoochiness and love! Just imagine the joy of having me leap into your life, but fair warning, I will test your balance as I lean in for never-ending snuggle sessions!
Oh yeah, HOG ALERT! I prefer trotting through life with human buddies rather than any fluffy roommates, so prepare for all my affection to be solely yours! Older teenage humans are my favorite playmates, being a pretty big girl, I would hate to accidentally knock over little itty-bitty little ones.
I am basically a professional squirrel exterminator, so having a good size yard for us to have big fun together would be a dream come true! One of my favorite things in the whole world (besides marinating in your affection) is running and playing around in the pond at the Sanctuary. I just love getting all spunky, sniffing out little critters, and zooming after toys!
If you are interested in adopting me, put in an application at the MAS website.

Second Chance Cats is a 501(c)3 non-profit with a mission to help cats at municipal shelters who are at risk for euthanasia or were deemed unadoptable because of behavioral or medical issues. The group also works with other private rescues that are overcrowded and helps rehome cats that have been assessed as friendly when going through the trap-neuter-return process. Here is their pet of the week.

GOOD IN A HOME WITH
Other cats, children
Meet Cloak, a sweet and gentle kitten with a wonderful purr and a super soft and shiny coat that will melt your heart. Cloak loves being around people and enjoys pets and kisses, being in the family bed and running around the house. While he’s not quite ready to sit on laps, he’ll happily stand on them, soaking in your attention. Cloak greets his foster mom multiple times a day and squeaks! He likes playing with spring toys and wands.
Cloak would thrive in a quiet, slower-paced home where he can feel safe and secure. Cloak is a bit cautious and likes the predictable. A busy environment can be overwhelming for him, but he would do well with an easy-going cat that enjoys light play. With his great appetite and love for treats, Cloak is sure to bring joy to a calm and loving home. Cloak enjoys touching his foster mom’s face with his paws! He has little white strands of fur that stick out on the back of his front legs like spurs, that supports his superhero name!
Cloak is currently in foster. If you would like to meet him, fill out an application and we will set up a meet and greet.
For the safety of our kittens and for children, we do not adopt kittens under six months old to a home with children under the age of 6.
We believe that kittens are happiest when they have a feline friend so Cloak will need to be adopted with another kitten here or go to a home with an existing, playful cat.
Cloak has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. His adoption fee is $120. He has an approximate birthdate of April, 2024.
If you are interested in any of the cats at Second Chance Cats of West Michigan, go to sccatswm.org/adopt to fill out an application, or stop in during open hours on Fridays from 11-2 or Saturdays and Sundays from 11-4.
