Each year, the Fallasburg Arts Festival brings together artists and art lovers for a weekend that includes music, food and fun. Occurring on Sept. 14 and 15 this year, here’s a look back at the 56th annual Fallasburg Arts Festival.
In the shelterhouse, many craftspeople had demonstration booths. Quilters, sewing experts, and woodworkers had live demonstrations to show how they plied their craft. Many encouraged audience participation for a great afternoon of fun for the entire family.
Handcrafted by Noah was one of a hundred different artisans selling their handmade work. Noah Mynes was one of eight woodworkers who attended the event. He came from Ohio to show off wonderful pieces.
The Bruce Matthews Band performed at 1pm. They were one of five bands who performed on Saturday. The band played songs that told stories of our history. With wonderful vocals, beautiful melodies, this band acted as a soundtrack to the event.
A beautiful queen sized, multicolored quilt was raffled off on Sunday. This was just one of roughly 75 artist-made items on display as prizes for visitors to win. Two dollars for each raffle ticket or four tickets for five dollars.
The Fallasburg Arts Festival hosted a hundred artisans from woodworkers and photographers to every artist style in between. Booths were set up in sunny Fallasburg Park to display amazing talents. Artists from many states across the country came together to celebrate art.
A children’s activity tent allowed young ones to play and be entertained while the event took place. A big “hit” was the musical instruments that allowed the kids to learn to play by ear. Drums, keyboards, and other instruments were placed near the playground so kids would have a place to go for fun, music, and play.
