Lowell’s Harvest Celebration is just around the corner, and what better way to kick it off than with the annual Harvest Hustle?
This year’s race will take place on Saturday, October 12, at 8:30 a.m., starting and finishing at Impact Church (11840 Fulton St. East, Lowell). Organized by Lowell Community Wellness, this fun and family-friendly event promises a fresh course that captures the natural beauty of the area.
For years, the Harvest Hustle has been a staple of the community’s fall festivities, with past routes winding through downtown Lowell. However, this year’s course has been completely revamped to offer a more scenic experience. Runners will traverse paths through North Riverfront Park, cross small and large wooden bridges, and return via the paved trails of South Riverfront Park. The out-and-back course allows participants to enjoy Lowell’s river and trail views.
Lowell Community Wellness, a volunteer-run nonprofit, organizes this event as part of its mission to inspire healthier lifestyles. The organization focuses on the eight dimensions of wellness, and the Harvest Hustle reflects their commitment to promoting physical health in a fun and engaging way. The race isn’t timed, making it perfect for all ages and abilities, from seasoned runners to families looking for a healthy way to spend the morning together.
Participants who pre-register will receive a race shirt, and children will be awarded a ribbon for their participation. The top male and female finishers in both the adult and under-18 divisions will also be recognized with a prize. For added excitement, one lucky runner will win a free one-month membership to the YMCA. In addition, “vintage” race shirts from past years will be available for sale at the event.
If you want to be a part of the Harvest Hustle, registration is available online via RunSignUp. Discounts are available for larger families, and race packets and shirts can be picked up the evening before the event at Ivy Rehab Physical Therapy (2050 W. Main St.) from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
Whether you’re a competitive runner or just looking to take in the crisp fall air, the Harvest Hustle is an event you won’t want to miss!
