Lowell Light and Power Recycling Christmas Trees for Trails

We received the following press release from Lowell Light and Power:

Lowell Light and Power is donating their time and resources to provide the Lowell area with free Christmas Tree Recycling this holiday season. Using their wood chipper, LL&P staff will recycle collected trees and donate wood chips for the Wittenbach Wege Center trails.

January 1st through 10th, you can drop off your trees to the designated area on the Kent County Youth Fairgrounds. Look for the signs near the Bowes Road entrance. There’s no limit to the number of Christmas trees you can recycle, but all trees must be free from tinsel, lights or any other decorations.

“We are excited to offer this new program and help out a local organization,” said Lowell Light & Power General Manager Charlie West. “We hope to have a lot of community participation, and we can make this an annual event.”
