We received the following press release from Lowell Light & Power.
Lowell Light and Power is celebrating National Lineworker Appreciation Day (April 18) and Earth Day (April 22) with its customers the week of April 17 – 21.
Customers may stop in the office for a FREE Energy Saving Kit, containing various light bulbs and nightlights, valued at over $50 (limit one per address). Plus, there will be giveaways for kids of all ages.
National Lineworker Appreciation Day is celebrated each year on April 18th and honors the men and women who work around the clock to keep the power on. Congress passed a bill designating April 18 as National Lineworker Appreciation Day in 2013, after the devastation of 2012’s Hurricane Sandy.
To honor Lowell Light and Power’s lineworkers, we invite customers and community members to take a moment to thank a lineworker for the work they do. Use these social media tags: #LowellLightAndPower, #ThankALineworker, and #LineworkerAppreciationDay or say thank you to a lineworker out in the community.
Kids in the community are invited to visit Lowell Light and Power’s website (www.lowell-light.org) to print out a Lineworker Appreciation Day Fun Sheet, Coloring Page, or Thank You Card. LL&P would love for kids and parents to visit the office and drop off thank you cards that the kids have colored to decorate the office.
“Lineworkers work all hours of the day, often in hazardous conditions, away from their families, going above and beyond to restore power to their community,” said Charlie West, General Manager. “They work under dangerous conditions on a daily basis. Our lineworkers, as well as lineworkers across the nation, truly deserve this special day of recognition.”
Earth Day is celebrated each year on April 22nd, marking the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970 and highlights environmental consciousness.
Lowell Light & Power also provided the fun sheet below for you to print and enjoy.
