Furry Friday

The following animals are available for adoption.  If you find an animal you’d like to adopt please contact the organization directly.  Lowell’s First Look does not assist with the adoption process.  And if you’re looking to add to your family and don’t see an animal below, each organization has additional animals looking for new homes.   Pet profiles and photos are provided by each organization.

Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary

Those involved with Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary take pride in finding the right home for dogs in their care. Here are their pets of the week.

Meet Lady Grey. What’s that? Brains AND beauty? Yes, I am the full package; with a goofy personality too! When I first meet people I get a little nervous, but I warm up fairly quickly. I am a big sweetie, I love to give kisses once I get to know you a little bit, I am excited for all the attention. Being the smart Lady that I am, I tend to get a little bored. I’m looking for an active family that can keep my brain stimulated with some fun toys and activities. I hope you are steady on your feet, I have been practicing keeping all my paws on the floor, but I could use some more practice. I love to play with kids and other dogs, so I am open to my new home having some play mates. I don’t think I’d be a good fit for a home with cats though. I met a cat at MAS and I was a little too tempted to chase it. If you are ready for a fun-filled adventure with me, put in your application! Lets get this party started!

Lady Grey, an adoptable Husky in Lake Odessa, MI_image-1

My name is Bandit! I love to spend time playing in the yard, going for walks and having fun with my human friends. I settle nicely when I’m inside, some would say, I’m a couch potato…I can’t disagree with that. I absolutely love going for car rides! Who can resist a nap in the backseat?? I do love laying on the laps of volunteers and staff, I still love to snuggle stuffed animals as well. Everyone says I’m the sweetest! I also have enjoyed spending time with our kid volunteers. I would be most comfortable being the only pet in my new home.

Fill out and application today to meet me!

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue look to find dogs and sometimes cats in their care forever homes with the help of foster homes.  Here are their pets of the week.

Snickers is a total shadow dog – he loves his humans so much !! He has two speeds – Play and Cuddles. He is uncommonly affectionate and sweet, and he gives the very best hugs. Snickers is a 40 pound, year and a half old Staffy Mix who came to our Rescue all the way from Arkansas. He has adorable apricot and white markings and the cutest little face. And his goofy smile lights up the entire room !! Snickers is house trained and crate trained, and he does very well with dogs. He would prefer a home without cats or smaller children and one that has a fenced in yard. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on shots. His adoption fee is $250. To adopt Snickers apply at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application

Whitney is a lovable, 57 pound, active, and playful 1 year old shepherd mix. She is currently seeking a large lap to lay in after a fun day spent giving her an outlet for her energy. Her current vice is fetch and permanently silencing the squeakies of stuffies. She is great with cats and other dogs. Whitney LOVES to play with dog friends. She has been wonderful with the teenagers in her foster home and would love to lick the faces of all children, but she doesn’t know her size and has no boundaries where love and play are concerned so older children are probably best so they don’t get knocked over. She doesn’t mind sleeping in a crate in your room at night, but if you want her to share you’re bed you definitely won’t hear her complain! Whitney is super intelligent and very treat motivated, so she will be a lot of fun for someone looking to work with their new pup! She will need a little work on her leash walking skills, but she loves to GO and get all her wiggles out! If you are an active person who is seeking your adventure equal, look no further. Whitney is an absolute sweetheart with the goofiest and most loving personality that we know will make someone so happy. A fenced in yard is required for this active lady so she has a safe place to play fetch and with any dog friends she might make. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on shots. Her adoption fee is $250. Apply to adopt her at www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application
