Long Time Employee Retires from Springrove Variety

This could be considered a big week for Linda Hamp.  Today is her 66th birthday.  Many have seen Hamp as greeted customers but this is about to change.  Friday is her last day working at Springrove Variety.

The Dedicated Employee
Nearly 40 years ago Linda Hamp started worked at Springrove Variety.  In her mid-twenties retirement was decades away.  Those decades have passed and it’s now time for Hamp to start a new chapter in life.

Hamp has worked with Mike Sprenger the current owner of Springrove for 22 years.  She says, “Mike’s a great guy to work with.  He’s a family man.”  It’s hard for the two not to consider each other a work family.

Fellow employees say it will be impossible to replace Linda.  They hope to be able to follow in her footstep and fill the void she’ll leave behind.  She’s more than an employee but part of the Springrove family.

Retirement Days
Hamp says retirement will be bittersweet.  She’s looking forward to enjoying time at home.  She and her husband also like to camp which means more time enjoying the outdoors with their trailer as a home base.  Hamp and her husband have four kids, 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren (with one on the way).  There’s no question she’ll enjoy family time.    Her husband retired last year.  After battling cancer twice the two are eager to enjoy retirement together.

The familiar face in the community for 40 years will still be around.  She’s eager to start doing some volunteer work.  Time is running out if you’d like to wish Linda well as she starts to write her next chapter in life.  This Friday is her last day.  Congratulations on your retirement and thanks for decades of dedication!

  1. Congrats on your retirement,
I worked for Mike a few years and enjoyed the time I spent at the Wyoming Store. During my time there I met many guys and gals I haven’t seen when I was younger and many of them I have not seen since high school. The store also was a popular place where my mom would take me and get sewing supplies and spices. It was a great place
