Flat River Gallery and Framing Celebrates Twelve Days of Christmas

Lowell, Michigan – October 25,2019– Flat River Gallery and Framing in Lowell is taking a unique approach to show off their artist’s talents this Christmas. They are taking 12 days during December to help folks understand what is involved in their artist’s work and various artists will be doing a demonstration of their artwork during December 2019.

Flat River Gallery and Framing is a cooperative art gallery and as such, each artist has a voice in how the gallery operates and who is invited to join. Many of their artists are in a variety of galleries not only in Lowell but across the state of Michigan.

Starting out the month is Deb Schaffer who will be painting and assembling “Mini Art & Soul Treasure Boxes altars and will be doing demonstrations from 11 to 6pm on Tuesday, December 3. Papermaking is Sandy Hansen’s area of expertise and from 11-6pm on December 4 you can see her in action. Haley Joseph will be practicing Modern Calligraphy on December 5, 2:30 to 6pm. Friday we will have 2 artists. Deb Jenkins works from 11 to 2:30pm and she will be showing oil painting. In the afternoon, Deidre Winglaar will be creating collage Christmas cards using acrylics. Saturday, December 7 Patti Sevensma will be working with Collage from 10-5pm.

On Tuesday, December 10, Kim Gill will be doing portraits in acrylic and/or charcoal from 11-6pm. Clay will be the focus of Kendra Postma’s work from 11 to 2:30 on December 11. Teresa Gaudino will be doing oil painting with a palette knife Thursday, December 11, from 11 to 2:30pm. Also, on Friday afternoon from 2:30 to 6pm, Patti Salka will be making Santa ornaments from driftwood.

Saturday, December 14, Rosemary Cheslock will be working with enamels from Noon to 3pm.

Our next to the last day, Tuesday, December 17, Joella Miller will be working on a chainmail jewelry in argentium silver from 11 to 2:30pm. Our last day will feature Debra Reid Jenkins, again working in oil from 11 to 2:30pm. From 2:30 to 6pm, Brian Meuser will be working with acrylics doing abstracts on canvas.

During your visit to see our artists at work, you will also have plenty of time to shop for a personal, one of a kind gifts for that special person on your Christmas list.
