Community Day Comes to the Riverwalk on Thursday

This Thursday from 10am to 7pm, head to the Riverwalk and check out Pink Arrow Pride’s Community Day activities.  The annual event is the first time the 2018 Pink Arrow t-shirts will revealed and available for purchase.

Health Fair
As part of Community Day, the Lowell Community Wellness Pink Arrow Health Fair will take place.  Stop by to register to win a Fitbit as well as gather information about health and wellness in the Lowell community.  Vendors will be on hand to provide information about various groups and activities. There will also be activities for kids, so bring the whole family!

If you haven’t already signed up for the Quiver race taking place on Saturday, September 8, you’ll have the opportunity during the fair.  Better yet, sign up for the Triple Crown and run the Quiver, Harvest Hustle, and Turkey Trot!

Blood Drive and Mammograms
Michigan Blood will be available for those who wish to donate blood.  Check what times are available and schedule your appointment online.  For every person who signs in to donate, even if the individual is unable to donate, Michigan Blood will give $10 to Gilda’s Club in Lowell.  The catch is at least 100 pints must be collected in order to qualify for the donation.

The Betty Ford Breast Care Services bus will also be at the event.  Mammograms will be given between 10am and 2pm. An individual’s insurance company will be billed for the exam.  Call 877-495-2626 to schedule an appointment. From 2pm to 6pm the community is invited to tour the mammogram bus and enter to win a prize.

Other Activities
In addition to being able to purchase your Pink Arrow t-shirt, come hungry to the event.  Hot dogs and other items will be available for lunch and dinner throughout the day. Kids will find activities to participate in and the Cabus will give away free ice cream to the first 300 customers, then it’s $2 while supplies last.

The Lowell Police Department will also be performing free car seat checks from noon until 2pm.  Park near the Michigan Blood mobile.

All Weather Seal will once again be donating $1 for each Pink Arrow t-shirt purchased during Community Day.  Yard signs will also be available to purchase at a cost of $10 each. But if you aren’t able to stop by and pick up shirts and signs, they will be available at Fans in the Stands, Springrove Variety, Heidi’s Farmstand and Mi Hometown Furnishings.

Spend the day in downtown Lowell tomorrow!  Along with Community Day, check out the Farmers’ Market and stick around for the next to last Summer Concert Series near the Showboat.
