We received the following press release from the Franciscan Life Process Center.

Lowell, Michigan, May 1, 2024 – Beginning in June, the Franciscan Life Process Center will again host an array of summer experiences at its Lowell and Grand Rapids campuses.

The Center’s popular Pioneer Days program will return to offer children a glimpse into what life was like for early settlers, in addition to a new workshop for budding artists in elementary and middle school. Also new this year, music classes will be available for both children and adults.

“With the return of our popular Pioneer Days and new additions in music and art, this year’s summer experiences cater to a range of interests and ages,” Center Director Sandy Koteskey said. “We are looking forward to welcoming community members to the Center all summer long to enjoy these fun, educational and creative camps.”

Aspiring artists going into third through eighth grade are invited to dive into the colorful world of art with an engaging pencil and pastel drawing workshop July 29-31 at the Lowell campus. From 1-4 p.m. each day, participants will learn the basics of handling pencils, creating various strokes and using pastels to add vibrant colors to their artwork.

The workshop will encourage budding artists to experiment with different subjects like animals, nature, self-portraits and more. Those interested may register online for $200.
