FROM December Volunteers of the Month

We received the following information from Flat River Outreach Ministries.

For December we want to recognize Jerry and Sandy Holton as the Food Pantry volunteers of the month- although they also help in many other areas.

When Sandy retired in 2013, her sister encouraged her to join her and volunteer at FROM. Sandy enjoyed it and recruited Jerry when he retired in 2015. Today, the Holton’s are busy FROM volunteers performing many different jobs. Jerry recently accepted the volunteer leadership position for the Commodities program and he’s also busy picking up food and boxes used for Commodities. Both Jerry and Sandy work in the pantry and Sandy also works on the building landscaping. They have also helped greet for the tax program, decorate the office for the holidays and Sandy has helped with various mailings. Jerry has volunteered 114 hours already in 2019 and Sandy has volunteered 64 hours!

They say they enjoy the participants we serve and getting to know the other volunteers. “FROM is a great place to be,” they said.

This ambitious couple is also busy volunteering at their church (Clarksville Bible) and, in their spare time, the Holton’s enjoy spending time with their 11 grandchildren. Jerry also enjoys working on his 1929 Model A and Sandy is busy quilting.

Thank you so much for all the ways you donate your time to help others. We appreciate you and the heart you have for serving!
