We received the following press release from Golden Hour Bookshop.

Lowell, Michigan — Golden Hour Bookshop is happy to announce our participation in the 12th Anniversary of Independent Bookstore Day! Join us from 9am – 2pm at the Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce located at 113 Riverwalk Plaza.

Golden Hour Bookshop will have a kids story time at 9am with a local teacher from the Kent County Great Start to Readiness Program, exclusive Indie Bookstore Day items, audiobook credit giveaways, the famous search for the Golden Ticket (1 year of FREE audiobooks from Libro.fm), and of course, we will be selling new and used books!

Independent Bookstore Day (Indie Bookstore Day) was established in 2013 to promote, celebrate, and highlight the value of the independent bookstore community. The day has been observed on the last Saturday of April every year since 2013. This year there are over 1,200 stores participating across the country.

Independent Bookstore Day is organized by the American Booksellers Association, a national not-for-profit trade organization, that works with booksellers and industry partners to ensure the success and profitability of independently owned book retailers, and to assist in expanding the community of the book.
