Scenes from Lowell: 2020 Artist Market Edition

You don’t have to go far to find unique, handcrafted gifts for the holidays. Each year, LowellArts hosts an Artist Market that brings together the work of dozens of area artisans. With items available across virtually all mediums and at a variety of price points, it’s a convenient way to shop local.

For those who don’t want to worry about crowds, LowellArts is offering shopping by appointment on Mondays. Visitors can sign up online for half hour slots to shop alone. Meanwhile, those who don’t mind sharing the space with other people can stop in anytime during the holiday gallery hours of 10am-6pm on Tuesdays through Saturdays and 12pm to 5pm on Sundays. The Artist Market will run through December 24 for last minute Christmas shoppers and then open again after the holidays from January 2-23, 2021. The LowellArts gallery is located at 223 W. Main Street.

Here’s a look at some of the items you’ll find for sale at the 2020 Artist Market:

Several vendors are offering jewelry.

There are rings, necklaces and earrings available in a variety of styles.

Ceramics and pottery is another popular category at the market with vendors offering handmade bowls, mugs, plates, sculptures and more.

If someone on your gift list loves succulents, you’ll find felted, ceramic and even a few live succulents for sale here.

For the person who has everything, there are Christmas ornaments.

Ornaments are available from several artisans this year and range in style from rustic to whimsical.

And if you don’t want to wrap, some items are ready to be gifted as is.

Of course, there are seasonal decor items as well, including small stuffed Santas and wooden snowmen.

And don’t overlook the art that you can hang on your wall. Whether you buy something for yourself or for a gift, a new piece may be just what is needed to brighten a living space.

You’ll even find handmade cards here to tuck into a giftbag or send to your favorite people.
