Ware Rizzy Steps in as Lowell Riddler Heads to a Warmer Climate Assignment

After four years of sparking excitement and community fun, the Lowell Riddler is taking a brief assignment in a warmer state. But fear not, fans of the beloved riddles—while the Riddler is away, a special guest will keep the tradition alive.

The Lowell Riddler’s nephew, Ware Rizzy, will step in for a limited time “pop-up” riddle game to keep the community engaged. This special event is set to launch on Saturday, February 15, just in time for a little mid-winter excitement.

“It was important to me that Ware got a chance to try his hand with a riddle, even while I’m on assignment,” shared the Lowell Riddler. “Bringing my nephew on board is a fun way to inject some winter fun and keep the spirit of the game alive.”

A New Twist on the Riddle Game

Ware Rizzy, an eager participant in past riddling fun, is excited to carry the torch temporarily. His version of the game, while honoring the spirit of the original, will come with a twist. Rather than searching for a hidden medallion, participants will solve this riddle that points to a specific location in the Lowell or Alto areas.

“The object of the game is still to solve the riddle,” explained Rizzy. “But instead of racing to find a medallion, participants will submit their guesses online.”

The first clue will be revealed on Saturday, February 15, at 9:00 a.m. on Lowell’s First Look. Those who think they’ve cracked the riddle can submit their answers in the comments sections of Lowell’s First Look Facebook page or on its website. Time-stamps will determine the first correct answer, and the winner will receive a special mention in a follow-up article.

Rizzy emphasized that this riddle may require a highly specific answer to ensure a winner. “I’ll be looking for precision in the guesses,” he added.

Expanding the Riddle Map

Rizzy’s version of the game will also broaden the playing field. Unlike previous games, where medallions were typically hidden in public or walkable spaces, the clues could point to locations anywhere within the Lowell and Alto zip code areas.

“This approach allows for more creativity and opens the game to a wider audience,” said Rizzy. “Anyone, regardless of age or mobility, can participate by solving the clues from wherever they are.”

He also stated that the idea came from “Gramps” Rizzy, who has wanted to play, but his pace has slowed down in his older years.

The Lowell Riddler, who worked closely with his nephew to develop the event, fully supports Ware and Gramps’ temporary twist. “This new version is more of a thinking game,” he said. “It’s a great way to involve more people and keep the riddling tradition alive while I’m away.”

A Community Tradition Lives On

While the Lowell Riddler is temporarily creating riddles in warmer weather, Ware Rizzy is ready to provide this mid-winter “pop-up” riddle to challenge the community. Whether you’re a longtime fan or a newcomer to the game, this riddle is sure to bring fresh excitement to Lowell.

Be sure to tune in for the first clue on February 15 and put your riddle-solving skills to the test!
