28th Annual Lowell Riverwalk Festival Coming Next Week

We received the following press release from the Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce.

Lowell, Michigan – Over two nights and one full day, Lowell’s 28th Annual Riverwalk Festival will have something for everyone in West Michigan. Set in historic downtown Lowell, this year’s outdoor festival will be held the evenings of Thursday, July 6, and Friday, July 7, and all day on Saturday, July 8. Riverwalk Festival features vendors, entertainment, fireworks, and more!

The festivities kick off Thursday, July 6, at 5 PM with Grilling & Chilling food trucks and concession vendors on Avery Street and Self-Guided History Tours along the Riverwalk and historic Main Street. Representing the cool and colorful era of the 60’s, “Magic Bus” will take the Riverwalk Stage at 7 PM. “Great Lakes Brass” will also be in attendance to entertain us with their New Orleans inspired street music.

On Friday, July 7, beginning at 5 PM, take a stroll and shop the many vendor booths exhibiting along the beautiful Riverwalk for the Flea on the Flat River show. Discover artists, pickers, makers, and boutique owners showcasing their wares, along with commercial and non-profit vendors. Take in the street entertainers and the Englehardt Used Book sale in front of the library. Out again for the second evening, festivalgoers should come hungry and enjoy Grilling & Chilling on Avery Street. At 7 PM, the Lowell Showboat will provide a picturesque backdrop for “Steve Hilger & The River City Rollers”, bringing their high-energy electric Chicago & Texas Blues show.

Saturday, July 8, offers events all day long. The day starts at 8 AM with the Lowell Riverwalk Cruise-in and Run the Riverwalk 5K Run/Walk. Bring your water vessel and enter the Bill & Paul’s Sporthaus Kayak/SUP/Canoe race at 10 AM. Or, bring a pinewood derby car, as kids and adults take part in the Ducky Derby. Enjoy a color explosion at the Kidz Zone, a kids scavenger hunt, book sale, the Flea on the Flat River show, Grilling & Chilling and much more.

Back this year is Kayak Fun on the Flat River, a blood drive at the Versiti Blood Center Bus, and a Community Worship Service from 7–8:15 PM at the Riverwalk Stage. Riverwalk Festival weekend wraps-up with our grand finale, The Laurels of Kent Fireworks at 10:15 PM.

Throughout festival weekend, be sure to participate in the Brookstone Investments Duck Raffle. A favorite since the festival’s inception, Duck Raffle Tickets are $2 each, 3/$5 or 10/$10, with a chance to win $1500 in cash prizes.
